VOW - Battle Resumes (Briefing Note)

On Thursday 25 January a representative, David Harrington, from the action group VOW (Villages Oppose Warehouses) very kindly attended the Parish Council Meeting to highlight to those present the real threat of a 100,000 sq m warehouse development at Lodge Farm just south of the M3 close to Junction 5.  The develpment will comprise of 5 warehouses each with a height of a 7 storey office block generating traffic volumes of 12,200 vehicle movements, primarily HGVs, in a 24 hour time period; 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The site is currently farmland producing potatoes and other key food crops and also contains a series of ancient footpaths with nearby Roman remains and also contains streams that flow into the nearby Riber Whitewater, one of only 200 chalk streams left intact in the world.   Read the briefing statement 'Battle Resumes' HERE
